Comparing a few booking sites helped us plan our early family trips. We updated this list on 8 November 2026 to include Trip.com alongside other places to compare your options. No single site is guaranteed to offer the lowest total price for every booking.

1. Skyscanner

We used flight comparison tools to explore routes and dates. Skyscanner can be a starting point, but check who will actually issue the ticket. Compare baggage, seat selection, stopovers, payment fees and support arrangements before paying. Also compare the airline’s own website.

2. Trip.com

Search accommodation and travel experiences on Trip.com. This link opens the homepage, where you can enter your destination and dates. Check the exact property or activity, family occupancy, total price and cancellation conditions before booking.

3. Agoda

We also checked Agoda when comparing accommodation. Make sure the dates, occupancy, room type, currency, taxes and cancellation policy match the other quotes. A lower starting price is only useful if the final booking suits your family.

4. HotelsCombined

HotelsCombined is another way to compare hotel offers. Follow the result through to the booking provider and read its conditions. Check where you would get help if a reservation changes or something goes wrong.

5. Airbnb

An apartment with a kitchen and separate sleeping space can suit a family. On Airbnb, review the final price, house rules, location, access, cancellation policy and sleeping arrangements. Ask specific questions about stairs, balconies and cot availability before booking.

The referral credit and promotional banners in the old version have been removed. Promotions expire, and an old discount should not be the reason to choose a booking.

Before you pay

Compare like for like, save the booking terms and confirmation, and check the location on a map. For our own experiences, read our Sanur trip story and our historical review of Studio 59 in Phuket.
