Our First AFL Game in Melbourne

Our First AFL Game in Melbourne | Video

This is our family’s very first time watching an AFL game.  We watched the Western Bulldogs Vs the West Coast Eagles at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.  The stadium had a pretty good atmosphere and it was interesting listening to some of the die hard Bulldogs fans cheer on their team.

After the game we swung past the Firelight Festival down at Docklands to check out the fireworks display.

Thanks for watching

  1. Seems like you guys were having a super fun day out. I’ve never watched AFL game before but I’d like to give it a shot at least once someday, for the experience. By the way, I’m curious about that $14 soup though, lol 😀

    1. We certainly did! It had a great atmosphere and we are glad we went. Lol we first lined up and asked for two, the man said “$28”. We just looked at each other and asked him, what did we order?? we couldn’t believe the price! Apparently it was all about the bread bowl it came in. Personally, I though it was average but at least it got us warm 😉

  2. I love watching sporting events whilst I am traveling. Never quite understood the rules of AFL. Looks like you guys had a fab time out. I love Melbourne as a city, great foodie place.

    1. yes! It definitely adds to a trip as its not your usual touristy thing to do. It was great , even though I still don’t understand it myself ( David probably does) , the atmosphere was awesome. You are right, amazing foodie place. I totally love the coffee culture there.

  3. I remember going to rugby games as a kid with ,y parents. Never cared what was happening but have great memories of it
