Planning a family trip means comparing more than the first price you see. Check the location, room setup, baggage and cancellation conditions so your booking works for everyone.

Accommodation and travel experiences
Open Trip.com to search accommodation and travel experiences. The link opens the Trip.com homepage. Enter your destination and dates, then check the exact property or activity before booking. Hotels mentioned in our older articles may have changed names, facilities or ownership since our visit.
Comparing flights
We have used Skyscanner to compare routes and dates. Also check the airline’s own website. Compare the final total with the same baggage, seats and stopovers, and confirm who will issue the ticket and help with changes.
Before you book
Enter the ages of all children, check sleeping arrangements and read recent reviews. Confirm the final price, included meals, transfer arrangements and cancellation terms. For an activity, check age or height restrictions and what happens if weather changes the plans.
Our guide to comparing booking sites has more tips. You can also read our Sanur trip story and our experience at Studio 59 in Phuket.
